The Wall Is Finished!
We spent the last two weeks of November in Thailand at The Refuge (our home for refugee kids from Burma), and Baan Choo Jai (our Girls’ Home in Northern Thailand). It was so great to be back with the children, and extremely exciting to see that the wall around the Girls’ Home is finally FINISHED!
Last year we shared with you that men were trespassing on the property and stealing livestock, tools, and vegetables from the garden. Some would even beat on the door at night, in a drunken stupor. It wasn’t safe for the children, and we knew we had to do something about it. You responded generously, and more than $13,000 was raised to built a wall around the entire property and replenish the stolen pigs, chickens, and fish! This project is just one example of how we protect and provide for children in need. But we can’t do this work without the support of donors like you! We have 209 children in our care right now, and it’s been a busy year. We’ve traveled to our carepoint in Africa, both of our children’s homes in Thailand, hosted our first fundraising event, and continued all the “behind the scenes” work that it takes to make sure our kids get their school fees, medical care, and daily needs met. Now as 2015 comes to a close, we’re in need of some additional administrative funding.
