Spotlight Gala Success!
We just wanted to take a minute to share about what a great time we had at the first ever Birmingham Spotlight Gala last weekend. (So much fun, in fact, that we didn’t take near enough pictures!) The work we do is very important, but it’s not very glamorous. Working in third world countries and spending time in places like slums, orphanages, brothels, and leper colonies means we don’t have many excuses to wear formal attire. So it was a real treat to dress up and walk the red carpet!
There was delicious food, dancing, and a fantastic silent auction and live auction. We got an opportunity to share a video and speak to the crowd about our work, as well as connect with several individuals who were interested in hearing more about our work during the event.
At the end of the night, it was announced that each non-profit would be taking home at least $1,500 of funding. We’re so grateful for the support raised for the children we care for around the world!
