In Loving Memory
We’ve been struggling to write this blog, because we don’t want this news to be true. It’s been very difficult to sit down and type this update. We are broken-hearted to share that Sosi Sarma, the House Mom at Asha Mission Children’s Home for the past 10 years, passed away due to COVID.
Sosi was still so young and so full of life and love. It’s hard to believe that she’s gone. She leaves behind her daughter, Daffodil, son, Enoch, and her husband of 17 years. We have seen her precious children grow up through all the years their family served at the Asha Mission Children’s Home in Delhi. [Above: 2014, Below: 2011]
She also leaves behind a legacy of love – in her family, and in the lives of all the children she helped mother at Asha Mission through the years.
Sosi gave so much of her life in service to others, and we will never forget her kind heart, bright smile, and sweet spirit.
If you knew Sosi and would like to share a memory with her family, you may do so here.
Her precious family is not just grieving now… they are also fighting COVID themselves. If you would like to support them through this illness, and in this difficult season following the loss of their mother and wife, please consider a giving a donation in memory of Sosi here:
All funds will be given to her family for their current and future needs.
As we grieve the loss of Sosi, we also grieve for all of India. COVID-19 is ravaging the country – with hospitals full, oxygen supplies depleted, and more deaths nationwide than can be recorded. The situation in India is dire. Tomorrow we will share more about what’s happening, and how you can respond to help some of the most vulnerable people in this country.
For now – we hope you’ll join us in remembering Sosi and honoring her service with a gift to support her family. May we all take a moment to reflect on her life full of love, and hold her family in our hearts. 🖤
