Freedom Night
We had a great time being a part of the first annual Freedom Night in Birmingham, AL!
This awesome event was organized as a way to raise awareness and funding to stop human trafficking and modern day slavery. It was important to us, because human trafficking is a danger to the children we care for in Thailand, Burma, India, and Swaziland. But many people don’t know it’s also a danger to children right here in Birmingham, AL.
It was incredible to come together with other non-profits, businesses, performers, and individuals to shed light on this serious issue. The event was held on Friday night in Railroad Park – in the heart of downtown Birmingham. There were vendors, food trucks, bands (including a concert by Sister Hazel!), and several non-profits who work to prevent and rescue men, women, and children from trafficking in Birmingham, across America, and around the world.

We had a Sound of Hope booth set up with some of our beautiful merchandise displayed, and we really enjoyed meeting new people, selling merch, and sharing about our work. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to shop, or give a donation! The money we raised will help us continue to care for our children around the world. By making sure vulnerable children are in a safe, loving home, we can ensure that they are protected from child predators and traffickers.
Thank you to Sonya Hornsby and Melea Stephens for coordinating this event, as well as countless others who volunteered and helped make it happen. It was awesome to be a part of it, and we look forward to Freedom Night next year!<
