We’re headed to Thailand!
A few months ago, our House Mom in Thailand (Rapee) shared with us the wonderful news that she and the Groundskeeper (Rit Ti Ded) were engaged to be married! They have been so excited about their upcoming November wedding. She and the girls have been begging us to come to the wedding, but we knew we didn’t have the travel funds for another big trip this Fall. Then, on a whim one night, we looked up tickets using our SkyMiles. We were shocked to find round trip flights (using SkyMiles) to Chiang Mai, Thailand for only $240 in fees! That price for a round-trip ticket just blew our minds! (Even the Delta agent sounded shocked at the price!) So of course, we booked our flights!
We weren’t expecting to make this trip, but we’re so glad we’re going! We’ll be able to meet the new students at The Refuge (our home for refugee kids from Burma), spend time with our American partners in Mae Sot, see the finished Wall Project at the Girl’s Home (and share photos and videos with you!), buy some Christmas gifts for the Girls’ Home, restock some of our merchandise in our store (just in time for Christmas shopping!), and of course, attend this special wedding! It’s going to be so special to be back with our kids in Thailand!
